A bomb explosion at a gas station in Easton, South Africa, has been ruled an accident.
The blast happened shortly after 6 a.m. local time at the gas station on the city’s east side.
The explosion was reported to the police, and the incident is under investigation, the city police said in a statement.
South Africa has had a high number of bomb attacks in recent years, and authorities have said it’s been linked to political unrest.
The South African Institute of Criminology says the blast is the most deadly of its kind in the country since 2004.
It was the third such explosion in South Africa this year, with three others involving gas pumps.
More to come.
