Bronx station building construction in the city’s borough of Queens has been slow, but construction on the second floor of a building on the west side of the Bronx has already begun, according to a report from Axios.
The building is called the Reichsbahn-Berlin Station building and the project is being overseen by the city of New York, the New York Post reported.
Construction on the project began in 2015, the Post reported, citing city records.
The project is expected to be completed in 2022, and the building is expected be completed by the mid-2030s, according the Post.
The Reichsbaum-Berliner station, which will also include a second-floor office building and a public plaza, will be a hub for the Bronx Transit system, according Axios, which noted that it will have more than 4,000 seats.
